GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Henley in Arden - New Station: gwrha471

Looking North towards Birmingham from the Stratford on Avon end of the down platform with the timber built bicycle shed seen on the right on 12th June 1934. The station is still in a clean condition despite some twenty-five years since it opened. The far platform, on the left, was bidirectional allowing local trains to call from both directions. This was a useful facility during the summer when heavy express traffic to and from the West of England required slower trains to be moved out of their path.
