GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Looking north with the ex-SMJ lines on the left and the
ex-GWR lines on the right. The SMJ station was closed nearly a decade prior to
the 1960s re-configuration of the lines from the ex-GWR to aid the movement of
iron-ore trains from the Northampton quarries to South Wales. The signal box
was a BR design totally bereft of character and was built in between the two
routes a little further south than the LMS/GWR joint signal box. The track on
the extreme left led to the ex-SMJ siding.
