GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Built by BR to a GWR design, 4-6-0 No 7915 'Mere Hall' has just restarted the 11.5 Illfracombe to Wolverhampton express from Earlswood Lakes after detaching the pilot, 0-6-0 No 2210, which had given it aid from Stratford Upon Avon.

Number 7915 was built at Swindon in March 1950 and lasted a mere (no pun intended) 15 years before it was withdrawn from Tyseley in October 1965 and scrapped by J Cashmore of Great Bridge in January the following year. 25th August 1962
