This close up of image 'gwrel458' shows the down platform structure. The station signs differ from others along the line. The nearest is for 'Parcels and Cloak Room', followed by Booking Office & Waiting Room, then Ladies Waiting Room and what appears to be a sign for the Gentlemens.

As both platforms had toilet facilities it has to be assumed therefore that the Cloak Room was actually for cloaks and other personal effects. This might be linked to the fact that in the Earlswood Lake area there are three lakes and this was heavily promoted by the GWR to the citizens of Birmingham as a tourist attraction.
