GWR Route: Alcester to Hatton Junction
Claverdon Station: gwrc873
The Royal train hauled by ex-LMS 4-6-0 Black 5 No 44919 with
HM The Queen Mother on her way to reopen the southern section of the Stratford
upon Avon canal. Number 44919 was built at Crewe works in December 1945 and
lasted in service for exactly thirty-one years before being withdrawn in
December 1966 from Oxley shed to be scrapped in August 1967 by J Cashmore of
Newport.
The train is passing the old station (left) and disused
goods yard (right) where the siding is in the process of being removed. 11th
