GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Birmingham Snow Hill Station: gwrbsh74
View of the station concourse which was located behind the
hotel and allowed motor vehicles to drop passengers directly in front of the
booking offices. The two booking offices on the left are respectively, Third
Class, First Class, Third Class and Third Class. To the left on the original
print but not seen above was an Excursion booking office. The gentleman raising
his umbrella is wearing Plus Twos trousers which have a two inch fold
over below the knee once the gentleman's attire but now mainly associated with
a golf-course. The two cars parked on the right are thought to be a Wolsey on
the left and a 20 Horse Power Renault with the registration number 'O 80',
thought to be one of Birmingham's earliest car plates.
