Schematic plan showing the GWR's broad gauge shed and servicing facilities at Bordesley circa 1882. Sketched by RS Potts from a plan entitled: - Loco Dept. Stafford Road Works 13th March 1882. The above plan was rescued from destrcution by Mike Lewis, a Stafford Road fireman. The turntable was built by McKenzie, Clones and Hobham of Worcester in 1881. A crane was fitted to the coal stage. The article in the Broad Gauge Society's magazine noted the following:
Engines running or under repair: - 45 in 1882 and 60 in 1891
Average engines in steam daily: - 35 in 1882 and 48 in 1891
