Bearley Station: gwrb783

The Hatton end of Bearley Station viewed from the road bridge, showing the new platform extensions on 19th May 1939. Behind the new up platform on the right is the station masters house, while beyond this and partly obscured by the new footbridge and old weighbridge office is the goods shed. Both the station masters house and the goods shed were part of the original Stratford on Avon Railway station built in 1860. The arched doorway on the right of the goods shed is the vehicular loading bay entrance. After July 1939 the down refuge siding in the foreground (see trap point and running line independent disc signal) became the new down line and the point work and independent disc signals seen here were removed.
