GWR Route: Hatton to Bearley and Alcester Branch
Bearley Station: gwrb772a
Close up of image 'gwrb772' showing the goods wagons at the
rear of the mixed train. Behind the engine is a covered goods van (MINK), brake
van (TOAD) and a final wagon that cannot be definitely identified but could be
a horse box. The MINK appears to be one of the ubiquitous Iron
Minks, which were popular for the transport of flour because their iron
construction protected the contents against rodents (On the Alcester Branch
there were a couple of large mills). The TOAD is probably the Branch 16ton
Brake Van No35860 (diagram AA3) built c1900.
