GWR Route: Hatton to Bearley and Alcester Branch
Bearley Station: gwrb772
The 9.36 am mixed train for Alcester awaiting to depart from
Bearley c1938. An unidentified 48xx class 0-4-2T engine is sandwiched between
Auto trailer No 74 and the goods wagons marshalled at rear of train. The
warning gong can be clearly seen at the front of the auto trailer, as can the
auto gear and vacuum pipe. In front of the leading wheels are the sand pipes to
assist braking. Notice that the platform oil lights have been replaced with
electric lights by this time.
