GWR Route: Hatton to Bearley and Alcester Branch Junction
Aston Cantlow: gwrac793
The Halt at Aston Cantlow was authorised on 1st June 1922
and opened on Monday 18th December 1922 at the same time as the section of the
branch was reopened to Great Alne. There were six trains each way on weekdays,
but no permanent staff allocated to Aston Cantlow and each day a porter from
Great Alne travelled to the halt to fill and trim the oil lamps on the
platform. This photograph was taken on 18th May 1930.
