GWR Route: Hatton to Bearley and Alcester Branch Junction

Aston Cantlow: gwrac792

View of the halt looking towards Bearley showing the short raised footpath

Aston Cantlow Halt consisted of a single 200’ long wooden platform with a corrugated iron shelter with a arced roof. Leading to the platform is a short raised footpath, which sloped down from the Aston Cantlow road. Four oil lamps were provided to illuminate the platform, while a fifth is believed to have illuminated the path entrance. The ladder, lamp oil and other spares were stored in the small standard GW corrugated iron lamp hut at the end of the platform adjacent to the over bridge. C 1930.
