Great Alne Station viewed from the goods yard in 1947. The black structure in the centre was the station coal store constructed from sleepers. Between this structure and the corrugated iron lamp hut and mileage siding buffer stop on the right is the entrance to the goods yard. Behind the coal store was the weighbridge and associated office. The weighing machine was renewed in 1931 with a second hand machine from Moor Street.
