Looking South towards Honeybourne from the former SMJ railway bridge with the 'Racecourse' up platform being on the right nearest to the camera. This halt was authorised on 27th April 1933 with 550 feet long wooden platforms, name boards, ticket barriers, fencing, gates and lighting, but no shelters. The estimated cost was £823. The Halt opened on 6th May 1933 in time for that year's Stratford Steeplechase and was used for racecourse traffic only. On the opening day a third class return ticket from Stratford-upon-Avon cost 3d while a return from Birmingham Snow Hill cost 2s 6d. Admission to the racecourse was 2s (or 12s for the paddock and grand stand). When installed the junction was immediately 'South' of the down platform as can be seen in image 'gwr_src1429'. C1956
