LNER Route: Leicester to Marylebone

LNER 4-6-0 class B7 No 5484 works hard at the head of a down express just a few months prior to the start of the Second World War.

Built at Gorton Works in March 1924 it was allocated the BR running number 61397 but was withdrawn before it could wear it from Sheffield (Darnall) shed in June 1948 before being scrapped very shortly afterwards at Dukinfield Carriage Works.
