LNER 4-6-0 class B17 /4 No 2871 'Manchester City' races along at the head of a down express. C1946 .

Built by R Stephenson & Co in June 1937 it was rebuilt by Thompson as a B2 and renames 'Royal Sovereign'. As a B2 it acquired the BR running number 61671 before its withdrawal from Cambridge shed in September 1958, the same month it was scrapped at Stratford Works.
