The Great Western Railway enquiry office on the grounds of the Royal Agricultural Show, held in Castle Park at Warwick in July 1931

The Great Western Railway enquiry office on the grounds of the Royal Agricultural Show, held in Castle Park at Warwick in July 1931. To the general public the Great Western Railway promoted the idea that it was ‘The Holiday Line’ with picturesque posters advertising various holiday destinations particularly in the South West and several of these can be seen displayed here.

At these events the railway was also keen to promote facilities and services provided for the business and farming communities. The range of logistic options offered was comprehensive including; port facilities, potential sites for new development, private siding arrangements, various loading facilities, warehousing and storage arrangements, distribution railheads and delivery services, road transport service, country lorry services, garaging of trader's vehicles, express freight, bulk travel facilities, livestock transportation, container system, complete farm, factory and household removals, registered transit, cash on delivery service.
