GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

GWR 2-6-0 No 2612, an outside-framed Aberdare class locomotive, is seen standing in the yard at Tyseley shed circa 1932. This class of locomotives were usually found in South Wales but Tyseley was one of the few English sheds to be allocated them. Built at Swindon works in July 1903 No 2612 remained in service until January 1948 when it was withdrawn from Banbury shed to be scrapped at Swindon works.
