Extracts from the Great Western Railway's Public Time Tables of 1935 advertising the new Express Business Service

Extracts from the Great Western Railway’s Public Time Tables of 1935 showing how the services by Streamlined Rail Cars were steadily increasing as three more of these Diesel Railcars were taken into stock that year. The advert on the left is from the Summer 1935 Time Table (8th July to 29th September), while that on the right is from the Winter 1935 Timetable (30th September 1935 to 5th July 1936). In addition to the twice daily Birmingham to Cardiff Express Business Service with its buffet bar, there was now a service from a Worcester Shed based Diesel Railcar which called at several Warwickshire Stations as it roamed across the network:

Railcar No 5 entered service at Oxford on 22nd July 1935, while a second Railcar for Worcester - No 6 (see gwrt345) arrived on 30th August to provide a spare.
