A 1928 ‘GWR Parcels Rates Book’ indicating preferential Parcels Rates available for various sizes of motorcycles and other articles

The Motorcycle manufacturers of Tyseley frequently sent their products as Parcels traffic and in 1924 due to the quantity of this traffic, an electric lift was constructed adjacent to the passenger entrance to help transfer motorcycles to the platforms (see 'gwrt1348'). The table above is from a ‘Great Western Railway Parcels Rates Book’ issued in 1928 and indicates the preferential Parcels Rates available for various sizes of motorcycles and other articles.

In 1928 the following passenger fares were applicable to Tyseley:

Destination Third Class Ticket First Class Ticket
  Single Return Single Return
Birmingham 5d 8½d 8½d 1s/5d
Leamington 2s/6d 5s/0d 4s/2d 8s/4d
