GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Tyseley Shed: gwrt1085c
Close up of image 'gwrt1085' showing two of the repair roads
with a GWR 2-6-2T tank engine stripped down to its frame with only the bunker
remaining. The three sets of driving axles and wheels have been set down on the
adjacent road with two metal rods and planks of wood positioned to prevent them
from rolling. Each road had a pit with removable timber planking for accessing
underneath the locomotive. In front of the wheels are two bearings which would
have located the wheel sets in to the frame. On the left by the column can be
seen the cover protecting the valves on the boiler and a set of springs.
