Stratford on Avon West Signal Box can be seen the other side of Alcester Road bridge controlling the refuge siding on the up line immediately before the bridge and the points to both island platforms as well as the Cold Store up loop line. In 1929 there was 37 members of staff based at Stratford on Avon station under the direction of the Traffic Department of the Birmingham Division. The stationmaster was a grade 3 salaried member of staff, reflecting Stratford on Avon's ranking as a station of intermediate importance. The 37 members of staff included: two Booking Clerks, two Station Foremen, one Ticket Collector, one Parcel Porter, four Porters, one Passenger Shunter, six Goods Shunters, twelve Signalmen, four Passenger Guards, one Goods Guard, one Porter Guard and one Charwoman who worked one day per week. The signalmen were allocated as follows: three at Stratford on Avon Goods Junction Signal Box, three at Stratford on Avon East Signal Box, one at Stratford on Avon East & West Junction Signal Box (controlling the exchange line to the former SMJ) and three at Evesham Road Signal Box.
