GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Hatton

GWR 0-4-2T 517 Class No 1157 is seen at Stratford upon Avon with an Auto working from Alcester on 6th July 1935. The locomotive has just passed beneath the Alcester Road bridge and is about to reverse into the up line platform in readiness for its return to Alcester. Built at Wolverhampton works in December 1875, No 1157 was to remain in service until November 1935 when it was withdrawn from LMTN Leamington Spa shed to be scrapped by Swindon works circa 1936.
