Looking towards Birmingham Road with the original 1863 station turned goods shed on the right and Flowers Brewery beer shed on the left. A variety of inward traffic was handled by the goods yard ranging from sacks being stored by Gopsill Brown to be sent out to customers to be used for transporting their goods by rail to steel, girders for The Skeleton Steel Company of Timothy Bridge Road and bars and coils for NC Joseph Ltd of Birmingham Road who manufactured components for the car industry. Outward shipments included scrap metal from WT Bird who occupied part of the site at Epsley's Brick Works opposite the goods yard. They used the end docks between the shed road and sidings which had been used by Flowers Brewery. Birds suffered from pilfering of copper and brass in transit so the staff at the goods yard used to place on top a heavy load such as a tram bogie to protect the load during transit.
