An unidentified ex-GWR 4-6-0 Hall class locomotive is seen passing Stratford on Avon West Signal Box on an express service to Worcester in 1952. The unidentified ex-LMS 2-8-0 8F blows off steam as it waits for the off before tackling the climb to Earlswood. It was often the practice to hold freight services at Stratford on Avon West Signal Box until the line to Wilmecote was clear to minimise the need to hold the train at Stratford on Avon East Signal Box thereby allowing a good run at the bank.
