GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Hatton

An unidentified ex-GWR 4-6-0 Grange class locomotive is seen approaching Stratford on Avon on the 10:50am Wolverhampton to Minehead and Ilfracombe service. The train consists of a six-coach set for each destination, plus additional vehicles when the service needed strengthening. For 'normal' routes a Grange class locomotive was limited to 392 tons from Wolverhampton to Birmingham and 420 tons from there onwards to Bristol which was the equivalent to thirteen or fourteen coaches.
