Ex-GWR 2-6-2T 'Large Prairie' No 4118, a member of the 51xx class, is seen arriving at Stratford on Avon with a four-coach local passenger service in 1957. The Birmingham services were worked by three-coach sets with strengthening vehicles when required. These three-coach units were marshalled with a ten-compartment Second coach; Brake Second coach and Composite coach. Whilst most of the Leamington services were worked by the Diesel Railcars, a few of these 'E' sets did operate to and from Stratford on Avon on this route. Built at Swindon works to Lot 292 in November 1936 No 4118 remained in service until September 1962 when it was withdrawn from 84D Leamington Spa shed to be scrapped in November 1963 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
