View of Stratford on Avon's two-road shed, storage siding and water column and the coaling station positioned on its approach roads on 22nd May 1961. The two-road shed was authorised in March 1906 as part of the development of the new route to the West of England. It replaced the original single road shed which was sited opposite Stratford on Avon West Signal Box. Built at a cost of £3,147 by CK Hunt & Son the work commenced in December 1909 and the shed was opened in 1911. The siding to the left of the shed above was opened as a result of the former SMJ shed being closed in July 1957 in order to provide stabling for locomotives being used on the Broom to Towcester line.
