GWR Route: Stratford on Avon to Hatton

GWR 4-4-0 Bulldog class No 3446 'Goldfinch' is seen standing at the down platform whilst running tender first on a local passenger service from Birmingham in 1947. Allocated to Laira shed No 3446 had probably worked into the area on a freight service and been purloined by Tyseley shed to work this turn. The coaching stock on this service was a Birmingham Divisional set of a pair of composites sandwiched between two Van Thirds. Built at Swindon works in November 1909 No 3446 had only another years left in service as it would be withdrawn in December 1948 from WOS Worcester shed to be scrapped almost immediately by Swindon works.
