GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Looking towards Birmingham Snow Hill along platform 4 showing the platform buildings housing the passenger facilities with the steps to the underpass on the right. As demonstrated by the second sign hanging from the canopy, the GWR had continued the 19th century practice of providing a separate ladies only waiting room. At the foot of the column adjacent to the steps leading to the underpass is a chocolate vending machine - from my memories of the 1950s of seeing such redundant machines, the price of a Cadbury's chocolate bar was '1D' (one old penny).
