GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 No 5065 'Newport Castle' arrives with the 1:11pm from Portsmouth Harbour on 2nd July 1960. Built at Swindon works to Lot 303 in July 1937, No 5065 was initially named Upton Castle but was very quickly renamed Newport Castle on 3rd September 1937. With this name No 5065 remained in service until January 1963 when it was withdrawn from 81A Old Oak Common shed to be scrapped by RA King of Norwich.
