Under the ferro-concrete arches of Shed B were two loading platforms each with a rail face and both had a one ton electric crane to facilitate unloading. These goods platforms were constructed with a wooden decking to minimise damage to goods and electric lighting was provided throughout and between the two platforms was a cobbled cartage way which ran the length of the goods platforms, from Allison Street to Park Street. This view taken around 1916 from the Allison Street end of Shed B, shows a variety of perishable market produce awaiting distribution, stored on the platforms. Adjacent to the rail siding stop-block in the foreground is a Birmingham pattern one horse trolley, with iron hoops supporting a canvas cover over the area here the driver sat.
