GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 No 6855 'Saighton Grange' is standing below the coal stage at Leamington shed in March 1962. A member of the Grange class, No 6855 was in service from November 1937 to October 1965 when it was withdrawn from 2A Tyseley shed. At the time of this photo, No 6855 was allocated to '84E' Tyseley shed as Tyseley's shed code had yet to change (it changed to 2A on 1st September 1963). The change reflected the wholesale closure of engine sheds throughout the country which necessitated the reordering of shed codes.
