Looking towards the up platform showing the middle section of the train shed being demolished

Looking towards the Birmingham end of the up platform which shows the middle section of the modified station train shed being demolished circa 1937. The new station canopies which replaced the original structure were significantly larger as well as being a better design to protect passengers from the elements. John Copsey writes 'The up platform was 650 ft in length, of which 360 ft was under cover, whilst the down platform was 670 feet long with 480 feet of it being covered by a canopy. Up and down bay platforms were provided at the west (Warwick) end of the station for Stratford and Birmingham services'.
