Ex-GWR Railcar No 14 having arrived from Stratford upon Avon stands at Leamington station's up platform in 1959. Built at Swindon works in 1936 at a cost of £5,093, this was one of a batch of three numbered 14 to 16. When in 1950 the mileage of these units was measured it was found that W14W had covered just over 500,000 miles since it was built. Typically W14W would clock up some 117 or 173 miles between Leamington and Stratford dependent upon which duty it had been allocated. All seats in the Railcar were second class. The Railcars were bidirectional being able to be driven from either end.
