GWR 4-6-0 No 4017 'Knight of Leige' is seen at the head of a Birmingham to Paddington express train as it passes the up loop line near Knowle and Dorridge in September 1921. Built in April 1908 and initially named 'Knight of the Black Eagle' it was first allocated to Old Oak Common. It received the Swindon No 3 superheater boiler in November 1909. It remained in service until November 1948 when it was withdrawn from Swindon shed.
