GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Knowle & Dorridge Station: gwrkd1010

The 1930s frontage of Knowle and Dorridge station after quadrupling of the line resulted in a new station. The new station building was far larger than the original as in the intervening eighty years the area had grown as affluent commuters moved out of Birmingham to the more desirable villages in the Warwickshire countryside. The new building would have accommodated a booking hall, office, parcels office, general waiting room and ladies waiting room with toilet plus a gentleman's toilet.
