GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Handsworth Junction: gwrhs1944

GWR 31xx Class 2-6-2T No 3138 on a local service from Snow Hill to Stourbridge consisting of six-wheel coaching stock. Built at Swindon works in February 1906 No 3138 was allocated to Severn Tunnel Junction shed in May 1922, Stourbridge shed 31st December 1947 (last day of GWR independence) and was finally withdrawn in October 1952 from Wellington shed. During its lifetime, together with other members of the 31xx class, No 3138 was allocated as a member of the 51xx class and became No 5138.
