GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

An 11th August 1941 view showing the offices are still being repaired whilst the 'Top' shed is now complete. This photograph was taken at the same time as the photograph seen in image 'gwrhd742'. With such wide scale damage caused by the Luftwaffe during the first two years of the Second World priorities had to be made. Structures used for shipping either men or goods were obviously a higher priority than office accommodation which could easily be housed in temporary wooden huts.
