GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

A general view of the sidings running adjacent to the Outward and Tranship shed on 17th August 1938. The main Birmingham Snow Hill to Wolverhampton line is out of view to the left of these sidings. Other than the sidings immediately along side the shed, relatively little changed to this part of the yard during rebuilding. On the right is a partial view of a travelling crane in what appears to be a GWR civil engineer's train. Judging by the pipes in one of the wagons it was being used for Permanent Way duties.
