View of a box van passing through the tunnel beneath All Saints Street on its way to Hockley canal wharf

View of a box van passing through the tunnel beneath All Saints Street on its way to Hockley canal wharf on 8th March 1939. The demolition work to build the new Top shed allowed the old rail connection to be seen in this view. The lightweight steel frame with timber cladding which was employed to provide the roof to new 'Top' shed can be seen above the tunnels. On the left the box van wagon passes under a loading gauge as it propelled through the tunnel. In the foreground on the right the retaining walls for two sidings complete with their buffer stops can be seen.
