GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line

Henley in Arden - Original Station: gwrha1401

Ex-GWR 0-6-0PT 94xx class No 9432 is seen with its wagons rolling past, by gravity, into a parallel siding

Ex-GWR 0-6-0PT 94xx class No 9432 is seen with its wagons rolling past, by gravity, into a parallel siding; the loco can now begin its shunting. Roger Carpenter and Chris Turner write: 'The Henley goods left Bordesley Junction at 9 50 am (at the time of Henley Goods depot's closure, in autumn 1962, it was booked to leave at 9 45am); after passing Tyseley it took the North Warwickshire line and followed in the wake of a Stratford upon Avon local passenger train which in the mid-to-late 1950s left Moor Street station at 10 10 am. The goods train had Hall Green traffic at the front, followed by the wagons for Shirley, Earlswood Lakes, Henley-in-Arden and Danzey (which was only ever served on the return journey)'.
