View of the two bay platforms located at the Hockley end of the down island platform whilst still under construction in 1911. On the right is Platform 2, in the centre are the bays, Platforms 3 and 4, and to their right is Platform 6 which has yet to receive its permanent sign, a temporary sign using black lettering on a white background being provided during the construction phase. The two signs that can be seen on the extreme right are Platforms 8 and 9 located on the up island platform.
