GWR 4-6-0 County class No 1029 'County of Worcester' is seen standing at Platform 7 whilst at the head of an up Class B local passenger service on 30th June 1953. Built at Swindon works in April 1947 No 1029 was the final member of the thirty strong class to be built. When first shopped No 1029 was allocated to first to Stafford Road shed where it was still resident in August 1950. By March 1959 No 1029 had been transferred to Neyland shed after which it received a double chimney in May 1959 which it carried until December 1962 when it was withdrawn from Swindon shed to be scrapped by Cashmore of Newport.
