Ex-GWR 4-6-0 Castle class No 7026 'Tenby Castle' is seen with steam leaking from its cylinders whilst standing at Platform 12 at the head of an up Class C express parcels train

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 Castle class No 7026 'Tenby Castle' is seen with steam leaking from its cylinders whilst standing at Platform 12 at the head of an up Class C express parcels train. Because No 7026 was built at Swindon works in August 1949, twenty months after British Railways was established, it should not really be described as an ex-GWR locomotive although in every other sense it was. It was first allocated to Stafford Road shed in Wolverhampton, where it was still allocated in August 1950 and in March 1959 and remained in service until October 1964 when it was withdrawn from Tyseley shed.
