The vast new booking hall under construction in 1911 with the walls and ornate porticos for the ticket issuing windows finished in imitation white Carrara Ware marble. Above, men are standing on temporary aerial platforms to work on the roof steelwork. Also note that the contractors had installed a narrow gauge railway to convey their materials across the site.
