Ex-GWR 2-8-0 class 28xx No 2832 is seen passing through Snow Hill station's Platforms 5 and 6 at the head of a down train of coke wagons on 2nd April 1957. Built at Swindon works in April 1911, No 2832 was initially allocated to Severn Tunnel Junction shed later to be recorded as being at Llanelly shed on 1st January 1948 followed by Oxley shed in August 1950. One of a number of locomotives equipped for oil firing immediately after the Second World War No 2832 was quickly converted back to coal firing in which form it remained in service until it was withdrawn from Severn Tunnel Junction shed in November 1959.
