GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Birmingham Snow Hill Station: gwrbsh1188
View of BR Standard Class 5 4-6-0 No 73013 about to be
turned on Snow Hill's turntable which was located adjacent to Northwood Street
and Taylor & Challen's works. The original turntable had been located to
the West and very close to the platforms of the second station. Because the
third station was significantly longer the turntable was moved to the East of
Snow Hill station when it was rebuilt in 1911. Built at Derby works in August
1951, No 73000 remained in service until May 1966 when it was withdrawn from
Bolton shed to be scrapped in August 1966 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
