GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Looking towards Leamington from the Birmingham end of the up platform as a local passenger train for Snow Hill arrives at the down platform circa 1905. To the right of the station building is further evidence of the entrance to the station from Sherbourne Road. The double chimney would have provided heating to both the booking office and booking hall and possibly the general waiting room whilst the single chimney would provide heating to the ladies waiting room. According to the Acocks Green History Society's website, 'the first station had a couple of sheds, a man porter, a lad porter, two signalmen and a station master'.
