GWR Route: Hatton to Bearley and Alcester Branch Junction

As a wartime measure the single track Great Western Branch from Bearley to Alcester was closed on 1st January 1917 and the track removed for use elsewhere. The branch was reopened again in 1923. This photograph taken on 21st September 1921 from the overbridge adjacent to the future Aston Cantlow Halt shows the bare trackbed. Notice the telegraph poles and wires were left in situ during this period.
